The cash flow experts
Since the global financial and economic crisis, there have been far-reaching changes in the overall regulatory environment for lenders and banks alike. These measures, which impose regulations on bank operations and lending in particular, have dealt a hefty blow to the industry. One of the areas that is feeling the impact of this development is lending to small and medium-sized enterprises.
Due to the accounting requirements imposed by the regulatory authorities and to protect banks from further/future balance sheet risks (bad loans), lending has become increasingly difficult for small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly when it comes to working capital financing (working capital: the financing of inventories, semi-finished products and also the financing of receivables). This has had the irreversible effect of making the market for alternative forms of financing a now firmly established part of the financing culture in Germany and Europe.
